Dhaba style suji halwa recipe
Here is a recipe for the best suji halwa:
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup fine suji
- ¼ cup ghee or butter
- 1 ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 cardamom pods cracked open at the mouth
- yellow color powdered food color
Instructions:
1. Roast the suji and butter on low heat uncovered for 20 minutes or until nutty and brown
2. In a bowl combine water, sugar and cardamom and microwave for 2 minutes
3. Once suji has changed color and smells nutty, pour in the sugar water mixture, then add yellow color to your liking
4. On low heat, let the halwa drink up the sugar water and the ghee/butter separates a bit
5. Serve with fresh puris and channay and enjoy...
